Overview

Clear Street is hiring a Paralegal for their Sales and Trading team to provide administrative support to attorneys and manage contract activities. This role requires attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a foundational understanding of legal principles and practices, ideally with some experience in a legal or financial environment. Your attention to detail is exceptional, allowing you to review contracts and documents meticulously. You are comfortable drafting and editing legal agreements, and you understand the importance of compliance in the financial sector. You possess strong organizational skills, enabling you to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively. You are a collaborative team player who values communication and is eager to support attorneys in their work. You are committed to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in all aspects of your role.

Desirable

Experience with contract management or legal research is a plus, as is familiarity with corporate governance and compliance requirements. A background in finance or trading can enhance your understanding of the documents you will be working with. You are proactive in seeking out information and resources to support your work, and you are open to learning new skills and processes as needed.

What you'll do

In this role, you will review contracts, including NDAs and various brokerage agreements, ensuring they meet legal standards and company policies. You will provide administrative support to attorneys by drafting, editing, and preparing legal documents for execution. Your responsibilities will include managing the legal department’s contract activities, which encompass contract review, approval processes, and maintaining a repository for executed contracts. You will assist with research on legal or compliance requirements, contributing to the department's overall efficiency. Additionally, you will support the formation and maintenance of business entities, ensuring all corporate documents are accurately drafted and filed. You will interface with corporate service providers to manage statutory requirements and registered agent services, ensuring compliance with legal obligations.
