Microsoft is hiring a Software Engineer II to join their Azure Data engineering team. You'll work on large-scale services in the Big Data space, utilizing technologies such as Azure SQL DB and PostgreSQL. This role requires experience in data engineering and analytics.
You have a solid background in software engineering with a focus on data systems — your experience includes working on large-scale services, particularly in the Big Data space. You are familiar with cloud technologies and have a passion for transforming analytics in the world of data. Your expertise in databases and data integration allows you to contribute effectively to the development of innovative data solutions.
You possess strong technical skills in various database technologies — your knowledge includes Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL DB, Azure Cosmos DB, and Azure PostgreSQL. You understand the importance of operational databases and how they support a multitude of applications across various industries. You are comfortable working with both relational and non-relational databases and have experience with operational database systems.
You are a collaborative team player who thrives in a dynamic environment — you enjoy working with cross-functional teams to drive data culture and enable developer-friendly applications. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders is one of your strengths, and you are always eager to learn and grow in your field.
Experience with Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse Analytics is a plus — you understand how these tools can enhance data processing and analytics capabilities. Familiarity with Power BI and its integration with Azure services will help you contribute to the team's mission of building a data platform for the age of AI.
As a Software Engineer II at Microsoft, you will be part of the Azure Data engineering team, where you will help modernize how we process and analyze petabytes of telemetry every day. Your role will involve designing and implementing scalable data solutions that support Azure's operational database services. You will work closely with other engineers to build and maintain high-performance data systems that provide valuable insights to our customers.
You will be responsible for developing and optimizing database systems — your work will include writing efficient queries, ensuring data integrity, and implementing best practices for database management. You will also participate in code reviews and contribute to the overall architecture of the data platform, ensuring it meets the needs of various applications.
