You'll leverage your extensive program management experience and technical expertise in mission-critical facilities. This role requires 10+ years of experience in program management and construction management.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field, along with at least 10 years of experience in program management. Your background includes 10 years of program or project management specifically within mission-critical facilities, such as data centers or chip fabrication plants. You have a strong understanding of the construction lifecycle, spanning from programming through commissioning, and have held leadership roles managing capital projects for at least 8 years. Your ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time is essential for this role.

You may also hold a Master's Degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field. Your experience with data center equipment and environments, including switchgear, generators, chillers, controls, and fire safety systems, sets you apart. You have a proven track record in the design, construction, and commissioning of facilities with medium voltage and low voltage electrical distribution systems, and you excel at managing teams to deliver industrial-type capital projects, including engineering, construction management, and project controls.

Your problem-solving skills shine through your ability to manage effectively within a cross-functional organization. You are adept at navigating ambiguity and resolving misalignment without direct authority, fostering a forward-thinking culture that prioritizes continuous improvement. You understand the importance of aligning construction outcomes with long-term organizational objectives and verifying construction fundamentals from programming through commissioning.

Desirable

You have a keen interest in stakeholder management and building trusted relationships with cross-functional leaders. Your experience in the construction industry has equipped you with the skills to navigate complex projects and ensure successful outcomes. You are committed to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within your teams.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the planning and execution of data center construction and design projects at Google. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire project lifecycle, from initial programming through to commissioning. Your leadership will guide cross-functional teams, ensuring that all aspects of the project align with Google's strategic objectives. You will manage stakeholder relationships, facilitating communication and collaboration among various teams to drive project success.

You will also be tasked with developing and implementing project management methodologies that enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Your expertise in construction management will be critical as you oversee the execution of capital projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. You will leverage your technical knowledge to address challenges that arise during the construction process, providing solutions that align with best practices in the industry.

Additionally, you will play a key role in mentoring and developing team members, fostering a culture of growth and learning within your organization. Your ability to manage commissioning programs and cross-functional projects will be essential in delivering high-quality outcomes that meet Google's standards.

What we offer

At Google, you will be part of a dynamic team that is dedicated to building innovative solutions for data center construction and design. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, along with opportunities for professional development and growth. You will have the chance to work on impactful projects that shape the future of technology and infrastructure.

Join us in our mission to create opportunities for everyone through technology. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement. Your unique perspective and skills could be the perfect fit for our team.
