Overview

Amazon is hiring a Senior Operations Manager to oversee budgetary, people development, and operational objectives within the Fulfillment Center. You'll lead a team of Operations and Area Managers to drive quality and performance initiatives. This role requires strong leadership and operational management skills.

Who you are

You have extensive experience in operations management, ideally within a fulfillment or logistics environment, where you've successfully led teams to achieve performance objectives. Your leadership style emphasizes coaching and mentoring, ensuring that your team members develop their skills and contribute effectively to the organization's goals. You understand the importance of building positive employee relations and fostering a collaborative work environment. You are adept at driving quality initiatives and process improvements, utilizing Lean methodologies to enhance operational efficiency. Your ability to set clear expectations and measure performance allows you to hold your team accountable while also providing constructive feedback to support their growth.

Desirable

Experience with budget management and financial oversight is a plus, as is familiarity with safety and quality standards in operations. You may also have a background in collaborating with cross-functional teams, including HR, Finance, and IT, to secure resources and support for various initiatives. Your proactive approach to sharing best practices across departments demonstrates your commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

What you'll do

As a Senior Operations Manager at Amazon, you will be responsible for all aspects of operations at the Fulfillment Center, ensuring that both Inbound and Outbound operations meet safety, quality, and performance standards. You will lead a team of Operations and Area Managers, setting clear requirements and expectations while measuring their performance against established objectives. Your role will involve driving the creation of quality initiatives and process change initiatives, leveraging Lean methodologies to enhance operational efficiency. You will take proactive steps to ensure that best practices are shared across all departments and shifts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

You will work closely with support staff, including HR, Finance, and Safety, to build and secure the necessary resources for projects and initiatives in your area. Your ability to nurture ideas from your team and roll them into improvement plans will be crucial in achieving operational excellence. You will also be responsible for building leadership bench strength within the Fulfillment Center, ensuring that your team is equipped to meet the challenges of a fast-paced operational environment.
