Verkada is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to develop intelligent security systems that detect and respond to threats. You'll work with a dynamic team and leverage your expertise in Android development. This role requires 7+ years of software engineering experience.
You have over 7 years of industry software engineering experience, with a strong focus on mobile development. Your expertise in Android development allows you to create best-in-class products and experiences, driving ideas from concept to completion. You thrive in a startup-like environment, where ownership and autonomy are key to your success. You hold a BS or graduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field, which provides you with a solid foundation for tackling complex engineering challenges.
You are excited by new products and startups, and you think critically about delivering exceptional user experiences rather than just features. You have a proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams, including firmware, backend, and frontend engineers, to develop innovative solutions. Your ability to adapt and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment makes you a valuable asset to any team.
Experience with AI and machine learning technologies is a plus, as Verkada integrates these into their security solutions. Familiarity with cloud platforms and security systems will also enhance your contributions to the Alarms team.
As a Senior Android Engineer at Verkada, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing the mobile applications that integrate with our security systems. You will work closely with the Alarms team to build intelligent systems that detect and respond to real-world security threats. Your role will involve designing and implementing features that improve the user experience and ensure the reliability of our applications.
You will collaborate with firmware, backend, and frontend engineers to create a cohesive product that meets the needs of our customers. Your expertise in Android development will be crucial in driving the technical direction of the mobile applications, ensuring they are scalable and maintainable.
In addition to development, you will participate in code reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and growth within the team. You will also engage in problem-solving discussions, contributing your insights to enhance the overall product strategy.
