You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong background in building scalable applications and systems. Your expertise includes working with Java, JavaScript, and Python, and you are comfortable with REST API design and implementation. You thrive in cross-functional teams, collaborating closely with product management and design to define and execute product features. You have a solid understanding of software development best practices, including version control, testing, and deployment processes. You are passionate about leveraging technology to solve real-world problems and improve operational efficiency. You enjoy mentoring junior engineers and sharing your knowledge with the team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Desirable

Experience with Docker and cloud platforms is a plus, as is familiarity with IoT technologies. You are adaptable and open to learning new tools and frameworks as needed to meet project requirements. As a Senior Software Engineer II on the Connected Equipment team, you will play a key role in developing and enhancing Samsara's next generation of hardware and software products. You will collaborate with product management and design teams to define the features and functionalities that will empower our customers to gain insights into their operations. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing software solutions that integrate with our IoT devices, ensuring high performance and reliability. You will participate in code reviews and contribute to the overall architecture of the system, ensuring that best practices are followed throughout the development process. You will also be involved in troubleshooting and resolving issues in production, working closely with the operations team to ensure smooth deployments and minimal downtime.
