Intercom is seeking a Senior Employment Counsel to support employment and HR matters while collaborating with various teams on compliance initiatives. This role is based in San Francisco or Chicago.
You have extensive experience in employment law, ideally with a focus on global labor and employment issues across multiple jurisdictions. You are skilled in providing legal counsel on employee policies, performance management, and compliance matters. Your background includes working closely with HR teams to navigate complex legal landscapes and ensure adherence to regulations. You possess strong communication skills, enabling you to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders within the organization. You are proactive in identifying potential legal risks and providing strategic advice to mitigate them. You are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace and understand the importance of diversity in the legal field.
In this role, you will provide global counseling on a broad range of labor and employment issues, primarily focusing on the U.S., U.K., Ireland, Australia, and Germany. You will collaborate with the People team, including HR Ops, Recruiting, and Compensation, to address employment-related matters and ensure compliance with applicable laws. You will lead investigations and provide guidance on litigation matters, working closely with external counsel when necessary. Your responsibilities will also include developing and implementing employee policies that align with the company's values and legal requirements. You will play a key role in training and educating internal teams on employment law issues, fostering a culture of compliance throughout the organization. You will stay updated on changes in employment legislation and proactively advise the company on necessary adjustments to policies and practices.
