Motional is seeking a Senior Motion Planning Engineer to lead the development of advanced algorithms for autonomous vehicles. You'll apply your expertise in robotics and software development to create safe and efficient motion planning solutions. This role requires a strong background in algorithms and software engineering.
You have a PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering, and possess a deep understanding of motion planning algorithms and their applications in autonomous driving. Your experience includes leading research and development efforts, where you've successfully designed and implemented novel algorithms that enhance the safety and efficiency of autonomous systems. You are skilled in software development practices and have a proven track record of building robust, scalable codebases that support rapid prototyping and evaluation of complex algorithms.
You thrive in collaborative environments and have experience interfacing with various components of autonomous systems, including perception, prediction, and control. Your ability to mentor and guide junior engineers fosters a culture of technical excellence and product-focused engineering within your team. You are passionate about advancing the field of robotics and are eager to share your knowledge and best practices with others.
Experience with advanced search-based methods and geometry-based methods in motion planning is a plus.
