Overview

Wikimedia is seeking a Senior Program Officer to implement funding strategies for Wikimedian communities in Northern & Western Europe. This role requires strong analytical skills and experience in grant management.

You have a strong background in program management, particularly in grantmaking and funding strategies. Your experience includes working with diverse communities and understanding their unique needs. You are skilled in analyzing regional and global patterns to inform funding priorities and strategies. You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to engage effectively with various stakeholders, including volunteers and community members. You are committed to promoting knowledge equity and have a passion for supporting underrepresented communities. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are adept at designing impactful program activities that align with organizational goals.

What you'll do

In this role, you will implement the Community Resources grantmaking strategy, ensuring it aligns with community needs and movement trends. You will analyze regional geopolitical and cultural contexts to shape funding rationales and priorities. Your responsibilities will include managing and monitoring the regional grant portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and impact criteria. You will lead annual grant planning processes and collaborate with colleagues to design program activities that achieve significant, scalable impact. You will also engage with community members to understand their needs and provide support for their initiatives.
