Job Description

Amazon is a fast paced, dynamic, high-tech company. The LATAM Stores Accounting organization supports our financial reporting, internal control, and also supports new business launches for Amazon in the consumer products, initiatives, merchant, operations, logistics and payments.

We are currently looking for a manager level candidate to help support the business growth in Amazon’s Mexico city, Mexico office supporting payments accounting. Successful candidates may have held manager accounting or finance positions in public or private companies and demonstrated experience in leading teams to accomplish unusually complex challenges is also expected.

A day in the life
Payments Accounting at Amazon is a specialized team responsible for handling all payments processed globally, including various payment products like Gift Cards, Credit Cards, Pay By Invoice, Shop With Points, Amazon Coins, and Amazon Currency Converter. The Payments Operational Accounting team is responsible for day-to-day operations, such as recording journal entries, performing reconciliations and analytics, implementing process improvements, and supporting key stakeholders.

- 8+ years of controllership or compliance experience
- 8+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
- 8+ years of transactional accounting field experience
- 8+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Experience in Excel (macros, index, conditional list, arrays, pivots, lookups)
- Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis
- Thorough knowledge of International, Mexican and U.S. GAAP (including the FASB Codification) and related research tools
- Experience with accounting closing process, including preparing and reviewing reconciliations and financial statements
- Written and spoken fluency in English and Spanish required- CPA, or MBA
- Experience of project management and an understanding of project management concepts
- Operational accounting experience with international companies
- Experience handling big amount of data and concepts of data analytics and SQL is desirable
