You have 3+ years of experience in data-intensive environments, demonstrating your ability to handle complex data processing tasks effectively. Your strong computer science fundamentals equip you with a solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles. You have hands-on experience building industrial-strength software, which has prepared you for the challenges of working with large code bases. A B.Sc in Computer Science or a similar field, or equivalent practical experience, is part of your background. Experience in C++ and developing database systems is a plus, showcasing your technical versatility. You have a keen interest in the theory and practice of database query engines, which drives your passion for this role.
As a Software Engineer 3 at MongoDB, you will join the Server Query team, playing a crucial role in building a world-class distributed open-source query engine. Your responsibilities will include working on the MongoDB Query Language and managing the lifecycle of each query, from parsing to optimization, plan selection, and execution. You will also contribute to the development of geospatial search and update subsystems, tackling interesting problems that have a direct impact on users for transactional, time-series, and analytical workloads.
