SpaceX is hiring an Integration Technician (Fairings) to support the fairing team with hands-on operations and installation of spacecraft hardware. You'll work with mechanical tools and fluid systems in Cape Canaveral.
You are an entry-level technician with a strong interest in aerospace and hands-on mechanical work. You have experience or training in mechanical engineering or a related field, and you are eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment. You are detail-oriented and capable of executing tasks with precision, ensuring high-quality standards in your work. You thrive in collaborative settings and are excited about contributing to cutting-edge technology in the aerospace industry. You are comfortable working in clean room environments and have a basic understanding of fluid systems and mechanical assemblies.
As an Integration Technician (Fairings) at SpaceX, you will provide daily support to the fairing team, working on both new production and flight-proven fairings. Your responsibilities will include hands-on operations with large and small assemblies, ensuring the installation of spacecraft hardware is performed with meticulous attention to detail. You will be involved in the removal, repair, and installation of harnessing, thermal protective fairing skin, avionics boxes, and propulsion fluid systems. You will execute procedures for the checkout of SpaceX flight hardware and ground support equipment, quickly becoming proficient in using various mechanical tools without instruction. Additionally, you will maintain and install fluid system components from schematics or drawings, contributing to operations in clean rooms and supporting efforts related to Starlink satellite integration and fairing refurbishment.
