Who you are

You have a strong background in product design, with at least 5 years of experience creating user-centered designs that solve complex problems. Your portfolio showcases a range of projects that highlight your ability to design intuitive and engaging user experiences. You are proficient in Figma and have a deep understanding of design principles, usability, and accessibility. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to bring ideas to life. You are passionate about understanding user needs and translating them into effective design solutions. You have experience in conducting user research and usability testing, allowing you to iterate on designs based on real user feedback. You are comfortable presenting your design concepts to various audiences and can articulate your design decisions clearly.

Desirable

Experience in designing for services or platforms that cater to a diverse range of users is a plus. Familiarity with agile methodologies and working in cross-functional teams will help you succeed in this role. A background in financial services or e-commerce design is also beneficial, as it aligns with Block's mission to empower sellers.

What you'll do

As a Principal Product Designer on the Local Services team, you will lead the design efforts for products that cater to sellers who provide services. You will collaborate with product managers and engineers to define product vision and strategy, ensuring that the design aligns with business goals. You will create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that effectively communicate your ideas and solutions. You will conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights that inform your design decisions, iterating on your designs based on user feedback. You will mentor junior designers, providing guidance and support to help them grow in their roles. You will advocate for user-centered design principles within the organization, ensuring that the needs of our users are at the forefront of our product development process. You will participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to your peers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
