Overview

Google is seeking a Data Science Manager for their Marketing team to lead projects that translate business problems into data-driven solutions. You'll work with Python, R, SQL, and cloud products like GCP and SageMaker. This role requires 7+ years of experience in analytics and technical leadership.

Job Description

Who you are

You hold a Master's degree or equivalent in a quantitative discipline such as Math, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, or Sciences, and you have at least 7 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems. Your coding skills in Python, R, and SQL are strong, and you are adept at querying databases and performing statistical analysis. You have a proven track record of managing teams, with at least 4 years of experience in a people management role within a technical leadership capacity. Your experience includes working with marketing and media data, and you have successfully delivered multiple concurrent marketing mix models and Geo-Experiments from start to finish.

You possess a deep understanding of Bayesian approaches and modeling frameworks, allowing you to generate practical solutions for marketing analytics problems. You are skilled at using results to drive business change in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders. Your ability to frame and solve ambiguous problems is complemented by your innovative approach to statistical methods, making you a valuable asset to any team.

Desirable

Experience with Cloud products like GCP (Vertex AI) and SageMaker is highly preferred, as is familiarity with delivering marketing analytics solutions that are customer-centric and data-driven. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can adapt to the evolving needs of the marketing landscape.

What you'll do

As a Data Science Manager in the Marketing team at Google, you will lead projects that translate complex business problems into investigative solutions. You will guide your team in implementing data science solutions, improving data quality, and developing metrics that drive successful media plans. Your role will involve delivering a customer-centric, data-driven approach based on a people-based marketing strategy, which includes building, segmenting, and testing audiences for optimal business results.

You will develop evaluation frameworks for machine learning and large language models, as well as investigate anomalies in data to ensure accuracy and reliability. Your leadership will be crucial in scoping technical priorities and innovating on statistical methods to enhance the effectiveness of marketing strategies. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the solutions you develop align with business objectives and drive measurable outcomes.

What we offer

At Google, you will be part of a culture that values innovation and creativity. You will have the opportunity to work on projects that have a significant impact on how marketing is approached in the tech industry. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we believe diverse teams build better products. You will be supported in your professional development and have access to resources that will help you grow in your career. Join us in redefining marketing through technology and user-centric solutions.
