Overview

OneOncology is seeking a Medical Dosimetrist to collaborate with radiation oncologists and medical physicists in Albany, NY. This role involves developing and evaluating radiation treatment plans using advanced planning software. A valid certification from the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board is required.

Job Description

Who you are

You are a certified Medical Dosimetrist with a current and valid certification from the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB). You possess strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, enabling you to balance therapeutic doses with the protection of healthy tissues. Your experience includes collaborating with radiation oncologists and medical physicists to develop, optimize, and evaluate radiation treatment plans using advanced planning software and manual calculations.

You have a deep understanding of dosimetry and are skilled in utilizing various imaging modalities to delineate target structures and critical avoidance areas. Your commitment to adhering to compliance programs, ethical standards, and quality assurance protocols is evident in your work. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are dedicated to ensuring accurate treatment delivery.

Desirable

Experience in a private practice or outpatient setting is a plus. Familiarity with advanced planning software and a strong background in radiation treatment planning will set you apart as an ideal candidate.

What you'll do

In this role, you will collaborate closely with radiation oncologists and medical physicists to design, generate, and evaluate radiation treatment plans. You will apply your critical thinking and problem-solving skills to ensure that treatment plans are developed based on prescribed doses, target volumes, and dose constraints for surrounding structures. Your expertise in integrating various imaging modalities will be essential for accurate delineation of target and critical structures.

You will contribute to quality assurance processes, ensuring that all treatment plans meet the highest standards of safety and efficacy. Your role will involve using advanced computer software and manual calculations to optimize treatment delivery while protecting healthy tissues. You will also participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with advancements in dosimetry and radiation therapy.
