Nuro is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for their Devices Platform team to design and develop sensor and compute systems for robotics. You'll work with technologies like Java and C++ in Mountain View, California.
You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in developing systems for robotics or similar fields. Your expertise includes designing and implementing software that interacts with hardware components, ensuring high reliability and performance. You are proficient in programming languages such as Java and C++, and you have a solid understanding of embedded systems and device drivers. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware and software solutions. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Devices Platform team, you will design and develop the onboard software for Nuro's sensor and compute platform. This includes creating device drivers, inter-device protocols, and runtime APIs that enable seamless communication between hardware components. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to define and integrate the next generation of hardware platforms for Nuro's products. Your role will involve architecting systems that ensure high reliability and performance, contributing to the overall success of Nuro's autonomous technology initiatives.
You will also be responsible for building tooling to assist with continuous testing and validation of the software and hardware systems. This includes developing automated testing frameworks and ensuring that the software meets rigorous quality standards. You will participate in code reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration within the team.
