You are skilled in Rust, having used it to develop high-performance applications that require efficient memory management and concurrency. Your experience with Kubernetes allows you to orchestrate complex deployments, ensuring that resources are utilized effectively and that systems remain resilient under load.

Your background includes working with AWS, where you've leveraged cloud services to build scalable solutions. You understand the nuances of cloud architecture and can design systems that are both cost-effective and performant. You thrive in environments where you can collaborate with other engineers to push the boundaries of what's possible.

Desirable

Experience with GPU cluster orchestration is a plus, as is familiarity with batch processing frameworks like Ray. What you'll do

As a Software Engineer on the Infrastructure Team at Exa, you will be responsible for building the underlying tooling and infrastructure that powers all of Exa's systems. This includes developing GPU cluster orchestration in Kubernetes, which will enable us to maximize the utilization of our $5M H200 GPU cluster. You will also work on scaling our AWS batch job system to handle map-reduce jobs across tens of thousands of machines, ensuring that our infrastructure can support the demands of our AI applications.

You will design GPU scheduling software to optimize cluster utilization, allowing us to run more jobs concurrently and improve overall throughput. Your work will directly impact the performance and reliability of our search engine, which is being built from scratch to serve every AI application.

Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with other engineers to build observability into our production systems. This means implementing monitoring and alerting solutions that provide insights into system performance and help us quickly identify and resolve issues.

You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the design and architecture of our infrastructure, ensuring that it is scalable, reliable, and efficient. Your insights and expertise will help shape the future of our systems and drive innovation within the team.
