Who you are

You have a minimum of 5 years of professional automotive painting experience, showcasing your expertise in various painting techniques including base coats, tri-coats, solid, metallic, and clear coats. Your skills extend to blending adjacent panels and correcting paint imperfections, ensuring that every vehicle meets high-quality standards. You are detail-oriented and take pride in your craftsmanship, understanding the importance of delivering a flawless finish. You are also familiar with using state-of-the-art tools in a high-tech environment, which enhances your efficiency and effectiveness in your role.

You thrive in a collaborative environment and are eager to contribute to a team that values quality and innovation. Your ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and management ensures that you can work seamlessly within the team. You are committed to continuous improvement and are open to learning new techniques and technologies that can enhance your painting skills. Desirable

While not required, experience with advanced automotive painting technologies or certifications in automotive refinishing would be a plus. You may also have a background in training or mentoring less experienced painters, sharing your knowledge and skills to help them grow in their careers.

What you'll do

As a Lead Auto Painter at Carvana, you will be responsible for preparing vehicles for painting, ensuring that all surfaces are properly prepped and ready for application. You will apply various types of paint and finishes, ensuring that each vehicle meets the company's high standards for quality and appearance. Your role will involve blending adjacent panels to create a seamless look and correcting any paint imperfections that may arise during the process.

You will work closely with other team members to ensure that the painting process runs smoothly and efficiently. This may involve coordinating with paint preppers and other automotive technicians to ensure that all vehicles are completed on time and to specification. You will also be responsible for maintaining your workspace and tools, ensuring that everything is kept in top condition for optimal performance.
