Amazon is hiring a Facilities Operations Centre Engineer to oversee the monitoring of data centre infrastructure. You'll work with AWS technologies to ensure optimal customer experience. This role requires proven leadership skills and experience in facilities operations.
You have a strong background in facilities operations, ideally with experience in data centre environments. Your leadership skills have been proven in previous roles, where you've successfully managed teams and projects. You understand the complexities of physical infrastructure and are adept at monitoring and maintaining systems to ensure optimal performance. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with engineers and specialists across various disciplines to achieve common goals. Your commitment to safety and security standards is unwavering, and you are passionate about delivering the best possible customer experience. You are also open to learning and adapting to new technologies and processes as they evolve.
Experience with AWS infrastructure is a plus, as is familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems in a data centre context. You may have certifications or training related to facilities management or engineering, which would further enhance your candidacy. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen eye for detail will set you apart in this role.
In this role, you will be responsible for the 24X7 monitoring of the data centre’s physical infrastructure, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally. You will facilitate Large Scale Events (LSEs) and Critical Site Events (CSEs), acting as a central point of contact for all operational issues. Your ability to analyze data and respond to incidents swiftly will be crucial in maintaining service continuity. You will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers and specialists, contributing to the overall safety and efficiency of the data centre operations. Your insights will help drive improvements in processes and systems, ensuring that we meet the highest standards for our customers. You will also participate in training and development initiatives, sharing your knowledge and expertise with team members to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
