What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing perception algorithms that allow the Waymo Driver to navigate complex environments safely. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate perception capabilities into the self-driving system, ensuring that the technology meets the highest standards of safety and reliability. You will also work on building and maintaining test automation frameworks that validate the performance of perception systems under various conditions. Your contributions will directly impact the effectiveness of the Waymo Driver, enhancing its ability to make informed decisions in real-time. You will participate in research initiatives aimed at solving real-world problems, leveraging millions of miles of driving data to refine and improve perception models. You will have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and share your expertise in software development and machine learning.
