Who you are

You have a strong background in guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) systems, with experience in developing algorithms and software for satellite systems. Your expertise in orbital mechanics allows you to define constellation geometry and implement control systems for maintaining satellite orbits. You are proficient in programming languages such as C++ and Python, enabling you to create simulations, tools, and dashboards that enhance system performance. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional engineering teams to represent satellite systems at the constellation level. You are detail-oriented and committed to developing highly reliable and performant GNC algorithms that meet the demands of national security efforts.

Desirable

Experience with satellite systems and ground software development is a plus. Familiarity with simulation tools and performance analysis will enhance your contributions to the Fleet Management team. A passion for space exploration and a desire to contribute to innovative technologies that support government initiatives will set you apart.

What you'll do

As a GNC Engineer on the Fleet Management team, you will be responsible for the complete lifecycle of the Starshield constellation. Your primary focus will be on developing GNC algorithms that ensure the reliability and performance of satellite operations. You will participate in architecture, design, and code reviews to ensure the highest quality of software development. Your role will involve analyzing and simulating constellation designs, collaborating with other engineering teams to define scope and requirements for future vehicles. You will implement control systems necessary for orbit raising, station keeping, and collision avoidance, ensuring the safety and effectiveness of the satellite constellation. You will also contribute to the development of tools and services that support the operational needs of the Fleet Management team.
