SpaceX is hiring a Process Technician for their Plastic Injection Molding team to support the manufacturing of Starlink product components. This hands-on role involves maintaining production uptime of injection molding machines and ensuring quality standards.
You are a motivated individual with a strong interest in manufacturing processes, particularly in plastic injection molding. You have a basic understanding of mechanical systems and are eager to learn and grow in a hands-on production environment. You are detail-oriented and capable of maintaining accurate documentation of process settings and operations. You thrive in a team-oriented atmosphere and are willing to collaborate closely with engineers to improve manufacturing methods. You are adaptable and can work the night shift, ensuring that production goals are met consistently.
In this role, you will work directly alongside the materials engineering group to support the manufacturing and development of SpaceX’s Starlink product components. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain the daily production uptime of fully automated injection molding machines. This includes setting up and calibrating the machines, operating them, and performing necessary repairs. You will also be responsible for documenting process settings through setup sheets and maintaining process books. Additionally, you will oversee analyses and participate in work instruction development projects, training others as necessary. Your contributions will be crucial in developing new manufacturing methods and qualifying processes for production.
