Site Reliability Engineer (Senior or Staff), Fabric

Who you are

You have 6+ years of experience working on software and operating distributed systems, with deep expertise in networking fundamentals and a solid understanding of how the internet works, including TCP/IP (with IPv6), DNS, and TLS/mTLS. Your background includes working with multi-cloud environments and Kubernetes infrastructure, which is essential for this role. You are skilled in automation and have a strong focus on ensuring system resilience, scalability, and reliability. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems. You are passionate about maintaining high standards of security and performance in the systems you manage.

Desirable

Experience with observability and alerting systems is a plus, as is familiarity with service mesh and edge load balancing. You understand the importance of customer data security and have a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks. You are comfortable with cloud-native technologies and have a keen interest in continuous improvement practices. Your ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders will be invaluable in this role.

What you'll do

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer on the Fabric team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the infrastructure that enables secure communication between systems and from the public internet. You will work on network architecture, ensuring that customer data remains safe in transit. Your role will involve developing and maintaining a globally connected multi-cloud network that supports MongoDB products. You will leverage your expertise in Kubernetes to manage deployment machinery and enhance the overall reliability of the systems.

You will collaborate closely with other engineering teams to ensure that the infrastructure meets the needs of the organization. This includes participating in incident response and capacity planning, as well as implementing best practices for monitoring and alerting. You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of team processes and standards.
