Amazon is currently looking for a proactive and result oriented Finance Manager to become a major contributor to our Accounting team based in Luxembourg and to focus on financial reporting and compliance. This role requires excellent communication and organization skills, including the ability to anticipate, identify and communicate risks to senior leadership, as well as a passion to continuously enhance processes and reduce manual efforts through automation or optimization initiatives.
This position will take ownership and drive positive change including evaluating and streamlining existing processes, while collaborating cross-functionally. The role will also be actively contributing to the planning and execution of the statutory financial reporting and external audit process for our legal entities across EMEA.
Candidates for this position will have a minimum of ten years professional experience in similar positions in larger public companies and/or public accounting firms. Candidate experience should cover accounting & financial reporting processes and related analytical analysis, and controllership.
Key job responsibilities
• Preparation or review of statutory financial statements under local GAAPs;
• Preparation and review of various deliverables to support both internal and external financial reporting needs, including analytic commentary and the preparation of supplementary financial analysis for management and other stakeholders;
• Working with various cross-functional stakeholders to maintain efficient and compliant accounting and reporting processes, and effective controls;
• Actively contributing to improvement initiatives, standardization, re-engineering of financial reporting processes and controls, and implementation of best practices;
• Proactively participating in supporting current and future cross-functional, European and global projects and initiatives, collaborating closely with stakeholders across the organization;
• Demonstrating excellent project management abilities and strong technical accounting skills and understanding of financial accounting systems.
- University degree in Accounting, Business or Economics;
- Significant experience with an emphasis on accounting and financial reporting, preferably gained within a Big Four firm and / or a multinational organization;
- Excellent communication skills with fluent English;
- Experience managing multiple projects with competing schedules;
- Proficient Microsoft Excel user.- Big 4 public accounting firm experience with large sized multinational clients;
- Thorough level knowledge in reporting requirements under IFRS / US GAAP;
- Certified accountant qualification (CPA, ACCA or equivalent);
- Substantial experience in end-to-end financial reporting processes, including a strong understanding of statutory filings, internal controls, audits and their related requirements;
- Strong interpersonal written and oral communication skills, with the ability to summarize and communicate important data to all levels of leadership, and in tailoring communication to the audience;
- Proactive, and results-driven, ability to correctly set priorities and meet challenging deadlines;
- Passion to continuously enhance processes and reduce manual efforts through automation or optimization initiatives.
