Kong is seeking an Engineering Manager for their AI Platform team to lead a group of AI/ML engineers and platform engineers. You'll drive technical execution and collaborate on AI feature roadmaps. This role requires a strong technical background in AI/ML or platform engineering.
You have a strong technical background in AI/ML or platform engineering, with proven experience in managing teams and delivering production-ready systems at scale. You understand the rapidly evolving AI landscape and are passionate about building innovative solutions that drive business success. You have experience leading teams of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, quality, and continuous learning. You are skilled in mentoring and developing talent, ensuring that your team members grow in their careers while contributing to the organization's goals. You are comfortable navigating complex technical challenges and can effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience with cloud technologies and API development is a plus. Familiarity with agile methodologies and project management tools will help you thrive in this role. A background in software engineering or data science can enhance your ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively.
As the Engineering Manager for the AI Platform team, you will lead a team of 6-10 engineers, including AI/ML engineers and applied scientists. You will be responsible for building and scaling a high-performing team, driving technical execution across multiple initiatives, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality AI features. You will partner with product managers to define roadmaps and prioritize work, aligning team efforts with business objectives. Regular 1:1s with team members will be part of your routine, providing coaching and feedback to support their career development. You will also lead hiring efforts to scale the team, ensuring that you attract top talent in the AI and platform engineering domains.
