Strava is seeking a Senior Product Manager II to lead the Maps tab and routing experience. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape the product strategy and roadmap. This role requires strong leadership and user advocacy skills.
You have a proven track record in product management, with at least 5 years of experience leading product initiatives that drive user engagement and satisfaction. Your expertise lies in understanding user needs and translating them into actionable product strategies. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams including design, engineering, and data analytics to deliver exceptional user experiences. You possess strong analytical skills, allowing you to dive deep into metrics and user behavior data to inform product decisions and prioritize features effectively. You are passionate about the outdoors and understand the needs of athletes, which helps you advocate for user-centric solutions. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity and can adapt to changing priorities while maintaining focus on long-term goals.
Experience in the sports or fitness industry is a plus, as is familiarity with mapping technologies and user experience research methodologies. You have a knack for storytelling and can communicate product vision and strategy to stakeholders at all levels. A background in agile methodologies will help you thrive in our fast-paced environment.
In this role, you will own the Maps Tab and Routes experiences from end to end. You will advocate for user needs and shape the long-term strategy and roadmap for these features. Collaborating closely with adjacent map-surface teams, you will ensure alignment on priorities and dependencies, facilitating effective communication across product, design, UXR, engineering, cartography, and data teams. You will dive deeply into user metrics and behavior data to build empathy and understand performance, defining goals that drive product evolution. Your role will involve maintaining a shared understanding of priorities and sequencing to ensure teams stay aligned and unblock one another effectively. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the Maps Tab and Routes evolve cohesively within the broader product ecosystem, especially alongside other map-related surfaces and initiatives. You will lead user research efforts to gather insights that inform product decisions and validate hypotheses.
