Junior Commodities Fundamental LNG Analyst

Who you are

You hold an advanced degree (MSc preferred) in Mathematics, Statistics, or Quantitative Finance, and have experience in quantitative research, ideally through prior internships or related positions in commodities trading. Your background includes exposure to highly quantitative trading asset classes, particularly in power, and you possess a strong coding skill in Python, with additional ease in Excel and VBA. You demonstrate a passion for investing and trends in commodities markets, coupled with excellent writing skills that allow you to synthesize thoughts and organize information effectively. You are open to tackling any project or task that is required and possess strong communication skills to collaborate well with colleagues across multiple teams and regions.

Desirable

Experience in systematic trading is a plus, as is familiarity with building analytical models and processes to enhance efficiency based on commodities fundamental best practices. Your ability to produce ad hoc analyses based on short-term market developments will be invaluable in supporting commodities trade ideas.

What you'll do

In this role, you will support the desk in building supply and demand models across various agricultural commodities, contributing to the buildout of new analytical models and processes. You will take ownership of the desk's data flows, ensuring the onboarding of new datasets and addressing any issues that arise. Your typical day will involve checking that all models and visualizations are functioning as expected and troubleshooting any data-related issues. You will organize team confluence pages to keep all information up to date and produce any ad-hoc analysis that traders or analysts may require. Additionally, you will work on various long-term projects aimed at building market-leading analytical models, collaborating with different teams to capture cross-desk synergies and improve systematic reporting of information flow.
