Overview

Google is seeking a Customer Engineer for their Platform, Gaming team to facilitate the adoption of Google Cloud products. You'll engage with technical stakeholders and assist in migrating applications to the cloud. This role requires 6 years of experience in cloud native architecture and customer-facing roles.

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 6 years of experience in cloud native architecture, ideally in a customer-facing or support role. Your background includes cloud engineering, on-premise engineering, virtualization, and containerization platforms, which you have leveraged to engage with and present to technical stakeholders and executive leaders. You are skilled in building and maintaining customer relationships from scratch, and you thrive on the excitement of developing Greenfield territories. Your experience in migrating applications and services to cloud platforms has equipped you with a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities in this space.

You possess a solid grasp of security concepts such as encryption, identity management, access control, attack vectors, and penetration testing. This knowledge allows you to address customer concerns effectively and provide tailored solutions that enhance their cloud experience. You are a proactive problem solver who enjoys collaborating with sales teams to differentiate Google Cloud offerings and ensure customer satisfaction. You understand the importance of listening to customer needs and delivering solutions that drive productivity, mobility, and collaboration.

Desirable

Experience in a similar role within the gaming industry is a plus, as it will enable you to connect with clients on a deeper level. Familiarity with the latest trends in cloud technology and gaming platforms will help you recommend integration strategies and enterprise architectures that align with customer goals.

What you'll do

As a Customer Engineer at Google, you will partner with technical sales teams to facilitate the adoption of Google Cloud products among educational institutions, government agencies, and businesses. Your role will involve engaging with prospective and existing customers to help them understand the power of Google Cloud and how it can transform their operations. You will lead the prospecting and acquisition of new logos, establishing yourself as a trusted advisor on their long-term technology and business decisions.

You will recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, and application infrastructures required to implement complete solutions on Google Cloud. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly will be essential as you present to both technical stakeholders and executive leaders. You will also assist fellow sales Googlers by problem-solving key technical issues for customers, ensuring they receive the support they need to succeed.

In addition, you will liaise with product marketing management and engineering teams to stay informed about industry trends and devise enhancements to Google Cloud products. Your insights will help shape the future of Google Cloud offerings, making them more relevant and effective for customers. You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong customer relationships, which will be crucial for driving customer satisfaction and loyalty.
