Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 5 years of experience in software development across various programming languages. Your background includes at least 3 years of experience in testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and you have spent a year focusing on software design and architecture. You possess 3 years of experience in specialized ML fields such as Speech/audio technology, reinforcement learning, or ML infrastructure, and you are well-versed in model deployment and evaluation. A PhD in machine learning, AI, computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, or data science is preferred, along with a strong publication record in top AI venues.

What you'll do

As a Senior Research Software Engineer at Google, you will be embedded within research teams, setting up large-scale tests and deploying innovative ideas quickly. You will create experiments and prototype implementations while designing new architectures to tackle real-world problems in artificial intelligence and data mining. Your role will involve triaging product or system issues, debugging, and resolving them by analyzing the sources of issues and their impact on hardware, network, or service operations. You will implement solutions in specialized ML areas, contribute to model optimization, and engage in data processing tasks.
