Job Description

This is an individual contributor position, based in our São Paulo office. We are looking for a dynamic, analytical, innovative, practice-oriented person with a strong focus on the customer.

At Amazon, our goal is to exceed customer expectations by ensuring their orders are delivered with maximum speed, accuracy, and cost efficiency. The routing of each package is performed by complex systems that need to keep pace with the accelerated growth and complexity of the logistics network in Brazil. Given this scenario, the Supply Chain Optimization team is looking for an experienced data scientist capable of developing models, tools, and processes to ensure reliability, agility, cost efficiency, and optimal asset utilization.

The ideal candidate will have strong quantitative skills and experience with complex datasets, being able to identify trends, innovate processes, and make data-driven decisions, considering the end-to-end supply chain.

Key job responsibilities
- Execute continuous improvement projects in the logistics network through effective analysis of performance metrics and key indicators, leveraging international best practices.
- Develop and unify reports for proactive exception management and visibility of logistics operations.
- Create audit tools and consolidated reports to identify operational bottlenecks and optimization opportunities.
- Automate manual processes and implement self-service tools to increase team productivity.
- Audit operations, system configurations, and processes through enhanced analysis mechanisms for better visibility of indicators that impact costs and delivery speed.
- Conduct international benchmarks to identify best practices in data analysis and advanced processes, adapting them to local operations.

A day in the life
You will create success metrics for programs under your responsibility, present at senior forums, interact with program execution teams, analyze data bringing insights and suggestions for action plans.

About the team
Our team is composed of data engineers, project managers, and data scientists, all dedicated to creating scalable and innovative solutions that support and optimize Amazon's logistics operations in Brazil. Our mission is to ensure efficiency across all stages of the supply chain, from the first to the last mile, helping Amazon deliver results with agility, accuracy, and at a competitive cost, especially in an environment of rapid growth and complexity.- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
- Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
- Experience with AWS technologies
- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining
- Experience with SQL- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
