Senior Cloud Database Blackbelt Engineer, Data and AI

Who you are

You have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 5 years of experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Forward Deployed Engineer or Solutions Architect. Your background includes 5 years in software engineering, solution architecture, or technical consulting, where you've written production-level code in various programming languages. You also have at least 1 year of experience with Generative AI techniques, including large language models and multi-modal systems, or related concepts like language modeling and computer vision.

In addition to your technical expertise, you have 5 years of experience designing and deploying cloud-native distributed systems, data pipelines, or AI/ML workflows in an enterprise environment. You are familiar with SQL and modern data warehousing concepts, and you have at least 1 year of experience in prompt development, model evaluation, and creatively applying Artificial Intelligence.

Desirable

You are a specialized builder who thrives in a collaborative environment, eager to co-develop breakthrough solutions with customers. Your ability to document API friction and feature gaps allows you to influence the roadmaps of products like BigQuery, Vertex, and Looker effectively. You enjoy partnering with customer Chief Technology Officers and Chief Data Officers to validate technical feasibility and align proposed architectures with existing enterprise stacks.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be part of a specialized product incubation engine dedicated to accelerating product-market fit for unified Data Cloud and AI capabilities. You will bridge the gap between powerful platform primitives and cohesive, high-value solutions that enterprises demand. Your work will involve engaging deeply with a select group of lighthouse customers to co-develop solutions in real-world environments.

You will serve as the technical source of truth for core engineering, documenting API friction and feature gaps to directly influence product roadmaps. Your collaboration with customer executives will ensure that proposed architectures align with their existing technology stacks. You will also be responsible for designing and deploying cloud-native distributed systems and data pipelines that meet enterprise needs.
