Overview

Five9 is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to enhance their voice application services. You'll work with Java, Kotlin, and Kafka to develop robust solutions for cloud contact centers. This role requires expertise in VoIP technologies and a strong understanding of Object Oriented Programming.

Job Description

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in developing applications for cloud environments. Your expertise in Java and Kotlin allows you to build scalable and efficient solutions that enhance customer experiences. You possess a strong understanding of Object Oriented Programming principles and have hands-on experience with VoIP technologies, which is crucial for this role. Your collaborative spirit enables you to work effectively with cross-functional teams, ensuring that customer needs are met through innovative solutions.

You are familiar with Linux platforms and have experience in developing applications that require high availability and performance. Your knowledge of Kafka and Kafka Connect equips you to design robust architectures that can handle real-time communication effectively. You understand the importance of fine-tuning applications to optimize performance and ensure a seamless user experience.

Desirable

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing voice call control services that are integral to Five9's cloud contact center solutions. You will work closely with the Voice Application & Configuration Services (VACS) team to implement advanced features that improve customer interactions. Your focus will be on maintaining a 99.999% uptime for the applications you develop, ensuring that customers can rely on Five9's services for their communication needs.

You will identify and analyze customer business problems, leveraging your expertise in the VoIP domain to propose effective solutions. Your role will involve continuous enhancement of call control services, ensuring that they meet evolving customer requirements and industry standards. You will collaborate with other teams within Five9 to integrate new features and functionalities, contributing to the overall success of the company's offerings.

You will also be involved in troubleshooting and resolving issues that arise in the applications you develop, ensuring that any disruptions are addressed promptly. Your ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders will be essential in this role, as you will need to convey complex concepts in an understandable manner.
