Senior Software Engineer, Site Reliability

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on building reliable and resilient systems. Your background includes working with distributed systems, and you have a solid understanding of incident management processes — you've been involved in shaping how teams respond to incidents and improve system reliability.

You possess deep expertise in programming languages such as Java and Python, and you're comfortable working in a Linux environment. Your experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes has equipped you to manage complex infrastructures effectively.

You understand the importance of monitoring and alerting systems, and you have experience implementing these practices to ensure system health and performance. Your collaborative spirit shines through as you work closely with cross-functional teams, including infrastructure engineers and product teams, to enhance service reliability.

Desirable

Experience with cloud platforms like AWS is a plus, as is familiarity with CI/CD practices. You have a proactive approach to problem-solving and a passion for improving system performance and reliability.

What you'll do

In this role, you will influence the future of Asana’s SRE practice, especially as the Warsaw team grows. You will lead reliability-focused projects across the stack, from infrastructure to tooling and incident response. Your responsibilities will include defining and implementing Asana’s incident management process, ensuring that it aligns with best practices and supports the needs of the organization.

You will build internal platforms and frameworks that empower other teams to enhance the reliability of their services. As part of a sustainable on-call rotation, you will collaborate with teams in Warsaw, San Francisco, and Reykjavik, ensuring that incident response is efficient and effective.

You will also have the opportunity to shape the culture of the SRE team, fostering an environment where reliability is prioritized and continuous improvement is encouraged. Your contributions will directly impact how Asana manages its infrastructure and supports its product offerings.
