Apple is hiring a SoC Physical Design Engineer to manage the physical implementation of complex SOC designs. You'll work closely with the logic design team and utilize skills in physical design and verification. This role requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.
You have a minimum of a BS degree and 3+ years of relevant industry experience in physical design. Your expertise includes partition level P&R implementation, where you've successfully handled floorplanning, clock and power distribution, and timing closure. You are skilled in physical and electrical verification, ensuring that designs meet stringent requirements. Your communication skills enable you to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, driving execution and resolving design issues.
Experience with innovative process technology is a plus, as is a background in working with complex SOC designs. You are proactive in identifying potential solutions to design and flow issues, and you thrive in environments that challenge your technical abilities. Your passion for technology and commitment to excellence drive you to deliver high-quality results.
In this role, you will be responsible for the physical implementation of design partitions from netlist to tapeout. You will collaborate with the logic design team to understand partition architecture and drive physical aspects early in the design cycle. Completing netlist to GDS2 implementation for partitions while meeting schedule and design goals will be a key focus. You will conduct timing, physical, and electrical verification, driving signoff closure for the partitions. Additionally, you will resolve and improve design and flow issues related to physical design, identifying potential solutions and executing them effectively.
