SpaceX is hiring a Launch Engineer for their Fluids team to design and maintain fluid and mechanical systems for rocket launches. You'll work in a fast-paced environment, applying interdisciplinary engineering skills. This role requires a strong background in mechanical engineering.

Who you are

You have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with experience in designing and building systems that support critical operations. You thrive in a fast-paced environment where your skills are put to the test, and you enjoy the challenge of developing clever solutions to complex problems. You possess excellent analytical skills and can effectively manage projects from conception through execution. Your ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams ensures that you can coordinate effectively with various stakeholders.

Desirable

Experience with fluid dynamics and thermal analysis is a plus, as is familiarity with project management tools. You are comfortable with hands-on work and have a passion for aerospace engineering, particularly in the context of launch systems.

What you'll do

As a Launch Engineer, you will analyze, design, and build systems that support critical rocket launches and testing. You will take ownership of projects from cradle to grave, hosting design reviews and justifying project decisions. Your responsibilities will include equipment procurement and assisting in the construction of your designs. You will design modular hardware capable of being manufactured at volume for future launch sites across the globe. Your role will require you to apply interdisciplinary engineering skills, focusing on system-level process design, detailed pressurized fluid and thermal analysis, structural engineering, and materials selection.
