Google is hiring a Post-Doctoral Researcher to work on fundamental research and applied problems in AI and machine learning. You'll collaborate with scientists and engineers at Google DeepMind India, utilizing skills in Python, C++, and deep learning frameworks. This role is designed for recent PhD graduates.
You hold a PhD degree in a STEM field such as Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics, or possess equivalent practical experience. You have experience with one or more general-purpose programming languages, including Python, C/C++, or Java, and have trained deep learning models using frameworks like JAX, TensorFlow, or PyTorch. Your research experience in machine learning or AI techniques may include contributions to open-source projects, campus lab experience, research internships, or publications. You have submitted one or more scientific publications to AI conferences such as NeurIPS, CVPR, ICCV, or ICLR. You are comfortable working and collaborating across multiple teams and can navigate ambiguity effectively.
As a Post-Doctoral Researcher, you will engage in a 12 to 24-month role that provides industry experience while tackling challenging problems alongside Google DeepMind India scientists and engineers. You will conduct fundamental research and explore applications in products and services that impact billions of users. Your responsibilities will include designing and executing large-scale experiments, writing high-quality, reusable code, and contributing to production-ready systems using frameworks such as JAX. You will learn and understand research in machine learning algorithms and apply this knowledge to drive design decisions. Your work will contribute to human-centered AI initiatives and catalyze AI for Social Good, addressing challenges that define the technology of today and tomorrow.
