You have 5+ years of experience in software development and engineering management, leading teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. You possess a strong technical background in programming languages such as Java and Python, and you understand the intricacies of building scalable systems that serve millions of users. Your leadership style fosters collaboration and innovation, allowing your team to thrive in a dynamic environment. You are comfortable working with cross-functional teams, particularly in integrating algorithms into production systems. You have a passion for community-driven platforms and understand the importance of user engagement in enhancing discovery experiences.
Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms is a plus, as is familiarity with machine learning concepts and algorithms. You have a track record of mentoring engineers and helping them grow in their careers, and you are adept at navigating complex technical challenges while maintaining a focus on user needs.
In this role, you will lead one of three engineering teams focused on building innovative discovery experiences on Twitch. You will oversee the development of software and services that power critical discovery features, including recommendations, search, feed ranking, and notification relevance. Your work will directly impact millions of daily active users, helping creators connect with their audiences and enabling viewers to discover content they love. You will collaborate closely with applied science teams to integrate cutting-edge algorithms into production systems, ensuring that the solutions you develop are both effective and scalable. You will also be responsible for setting the technical direction of your team, driving best practices in software development, and ensuring that your team is equipped to tackle the challenges of a rapidly evolving platform.
