Verdance is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the development of healthcare data APIs that enhance the effectiveness and affordability of healthcare. This role requires 5+ years of product management experience, particularly with APIs, and offers the opportunity to impact civic tech.
You have 5+ years of product management experience, particularly in managing APIs, and you understand the complexities involved in healthcare technology. Your background equips you to take the product helm on a project team, ensuring that the needs of the civic tech space are met effectively. You possess impeccable written and verbal communication skills, which you will use to bring clarity and alignment to the complex government health tech landscape. You are adept at balancing design, research, engineering, and stakeholder priorities, ensuring that all aspects of product development are harmonized. Your strong product artifact creation skills allow you to effectively communicate ideas and strategies to your team and stakeholders. You have a deep understanding of how to monitor product metrics, ensuring that software features perform as expected and meet user needs. You are also interested in building an organization-wide product management practice, contributing to the overall growth and effectiveness of the team.
Experience in healthcare or claims APIs is a significant bonus, as is any prior professional exposure to mainframes or COBOL. Your curiosity and scrappiness will help you navigate the challenges of working in a small company focused on thoughtful growth, and your desire to learn about government will drive your contributions to making it better.
In this role, you will join a cross-functional team dedicated to building healthcare data APIs that support more effective and affordable healthcare solutions. You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing high-volume healthcare benefit and claim APIs, which handle approximately 350 million claim changes and 7 million requests each month. You will take ownership of the product roadmap, ensuring that the team is aligned on priorities and that user stories reflect the most critical needs. Your role will involve collaborating closely with engineering, design, and research teams to ensure that product development is user-centered and data-driven. You will also engage with stakeholders to gather feedback and insights, which will inform product iterations and enhancements. As a leader in product management, you will help shape the product practice within Verdance, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
