HealthVerity is seeking a Senior Director of Accounting to drive financial excellence and compliance across the organization. You'll lead accounting practices and manage a team while ensuring adherence to GAAP. This role requires strong leadership and strategic financial management skills.

Who you are

You have over 10 years of experience in accounting and finance, with a strong background in GAAP compliance and financial reporting. As a strategic thought partner, you excel in collaborating with senior leadership to drive financial excellence and improve processes. You have a proven track record of managing teams effectively, ensuring timely and accurate accounting practices, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Your expertise includes developing and implementing financial policies that align with organizational goals. You are adept at performing financial risk assessments and preparing comprehensive financial reports that provide valuable insights to senior management. You thrive in a hybrid work environment, balancing in-office collaboration with remote flexibility.

Desirable

Experience in the healthcare or technology sectors is a plus, as is familiarity with financial software and tools that enhance reporting and compliance. You are comfortable leading audits and managing tax compliance activities, ensuring that all filings are accurate and timely. Your analytical skills allow you to recommend benchmarks that measure company performance effectively.

What you'll do

In your role as Senior Director of Accounting, you will take primary ownership of the company's accounting practices, processes, and procedures. You will lead the month-end closing process and prepare Board reporting packages, ensuring that all financial data is accurate and presented clearly. Managing a team of accountants, you will oversee cash flow management through accounts receivable and accounts payable, ensuring that all entries are timely and precise.

You will work collaboratively across the organization to track software development efforts, ensuring that capitalization policies are enforced accurately. Leading the year-end financial audit with our outside accounting firm will be a key responsibility, as will managing all tax compliance activities, including the submission of federal, state, and local reports.

Your role will also involve recommending and tracking benchmarks that measure company performance, maintaining a deep understanding of financial performance, and communicating insights to senior management. You will lead initiatives aimed at improving management reporting and financial processes, driving continuous improvement across the organization.
