You are a motivated individual with a strong focus on operational excellence and safety. You thrive in hands-on environments and are comfortable working in various physical conditions, including uneven terrain and heights. You understand the importance of maintaining high uptime for critical data center equipment and are committed to supporting Amazon's mission of reliability and efficiency.

You possess the ability to lift and move equipment safely, demonstrating physical capability and coordination. Your attention to detail ensures that you can manipulate small wires and objects effectively, contributing to the overall functionality of the data center. You are adaptable and can work in noisy environments, maintaining focus on your tasks.

Desirable

While not required, experience in data center operations or a related field would be beneficial. Familiarity with AWS services and cloud computing concepts can enhance your effectiveness in this role. A willingness to learn and grow within the company is highly valued.

What you'll do

As a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of Amazon's data centers. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all data center equipment maintains better than 99.999% uptime. You will conduct regular inspections and maintenance of equipment, identifying and resolving issues promptly to minimize downtime.

You will collaborate with other team members to coordinate tasks and ensure that safety protocols are followed at all times. Your role will involve physical activities, including lifting and moving equipment, which are essential for maintaining operational efficiency. You will also participate in group lifts for heavier objects, ensuring that safety is prioritized.

In addition to equipment maintenance, you will assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues that may arise within the data center. Your problem-solving skills will be put to the test as you work to maintain the high standards expected by Amazon. You will also contribute to the documentation of processes and procedures, helping to create a knowledge base for future team members.
