Job Description

This role supports AWS Data Center expansion strategy for already launched regions, and will work very closely with business partners in determining long-term expansion strategies across a growing number of regions. In this role, you will help lay the foundations to grow the AWS data center infrastructure footprint, ensuring that the business has a viable and cost effective expansion path in assigned regions.

The ideal candidate will possess:
- Demonstrated ability to influence business partners, support thoughtful decision-making, and adapt to a rapidly evolving environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with various business units across Amazon.
- Strong excel financial modeling and analytical skills, with proficiency in using data systems and tools to conduct efficient analyses.
- Self-starter with a keen attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced often ambiguous environment.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, navigating across competing priorities to meet deadlines and proactively communicate conflicts.



Key job responsibilities
- Partner with the AWS Infrastructure Business Development team to provide strategic guidance on investments alternatives and deal negotiations for regional expansions
- Perform discounted cash flow and P&L financial modeling. Ensure internal stakeholders are aligned with recommendations
- Help prepare and deliver business reviews to senior management teams regarding progress and roadblocks to strategy execution
- Drive month-end reporting and variance analysis of actual spend versus projection
- Provide controllership and oversight of business case data integrity and approvals

- Identify and lead projects to drive automation and process improvement, and cost/operational efficiency.



About the team
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a talented Senior Financial Analyst to join our AMER Data Center Supply Finance team. This high-visibility role offers the opportunity to directly influence the financial strategy for AWS's global data center expansion.

We thrive on diverse experiences and perspectives, and we're committed to inclusion as a business advantage and the right thing to do.- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 2+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 2+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of Tableau
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
