Using Amazon’s large-scale computing resources, you will design and deploy state-of-the-art models that help customers shop on Amazon. You will ask research questions about customer behavior, design state-of-the-art models that help customers shop, and deploy these models to production. You will participate in the Amazon ML community and mentor Applied Scientists and software development engineers with a strong interest in and knowledge of ML and generative AI. Your work will directly benefit customers and the retail business.
We are looking for a passionate, hard-working, and talented Applied Scientist who has experience developing state-of-the-art models and deploying them to production. You will have an opportunity to make an enormous impact on the design, architecture, and implementation of cutting edge products used everyday by people you know.- 5+ years of building machine learning models for business application experience
- PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience
- Experience in a wide breadth of modeling approaches and applications- Experience in building machine learning models for business applications
- Experience in applied research
- Experience mentoring a team of applied scientists
- Experience with neural deep learning methods and generative models (text and image)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $179,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $309,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
