Welocalize is seeking a freelance English into Spanish (LatAm) Patent Translator to translate and proofread patents in various technical fields. Immediate availability is required for this remote position.
You are a skilled translator with native-level fluency in Spanish and a strong background in translating patents from English. Your experience includes translating and proofreading patents specifically in the fields of Electricity, Computer Science, and Mechanics. You are detail-oriented and have a deep understanding of the technical language used in patent documents, ensuring accuracy and clarity in your translations. You are available immediately for freelance projects and can handle a workload of 2000-5000 words per week. Your familiarity with CAT tools, particularly XTM, enhances your efficiency and consistency in translation tasks.
In this role, you will be responsible for translating patents from English into Spanish, focusing on technical content in areas such as Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Electricity, and Mechanics. You will ensure that all translations maintain the original meaning and technical accuracy, adapting the content as necessary for the target audience. You will also proofread your translations to eliminate any errors and ensure high-quality output. Collaboration with project managers and other translators may be required to meet project deadlines and maintain consistency across translations. You will be expected to manage your time effectively to meet the expected volume of work while maintaining high standards of quality.
