You'll leverage your experience in SLED sales and relationship management to meet challenging revenue goals. This role requires 5+ years of closing experience and a strong understanding of the public sector.
You have over 5 years of closing experience, particularly in the SLED (State/Local/Education) sector, where you've successfully navigated complex sales processes and built strong relationships with key stakeholders. Your background includes at least 2-3 years of direct sales experience targeting government agencies, municipalities, or educational institutions, demonstrating your ability to understand their unique needs and challenges.
You have a proven track record of exceeding annual sales targets, having consistently achieved or surpassed goals of over $1 million in revenue, with an average deal size exceeding $100,000. Your sales methodology is systematic and effective, allowing you to prospect new accounts and build a robust pipeline.
Your passion for technology drives you to stay informed about the latest trends in IT infrastructure and SaaS solutions, enabling you to communicate Datadog's value proposition effectively. You possess strong negotiation skills, particularly in pricing and contract terms, ensuring that you can advocate for both the customer and the company.
You excel in managing existing customer expectations while expanding relationships within your territory, demonstrating high problem-solving abilities when faced with challenging issues. Your forecasting skills are precise, allowing you to maintain a consistent and accurate sales pipeline.
Experience working in innovative tech companies, particularly in SaaS or IT infrastructure, is a plus. You have a history of acquiring new logos within large SLED organizations, showcasing your ability to penetrate and grow within complex environments.
In this role, you will be responsible for prospecting large organizations within the SLED sector, executing an efficient sales process that aligns with Datadog's strategic goals. You will build and manage a stakeholder map within your assigned territory, identifying existing relationships and future key players to engage.
You will develop a deep understanding of your customers' businesses, allowing you to negotiate pricing and contract terms based on value and ROI for large SLED clients. As you manage existing customer expectations, you will also focus on expanding and deepening relationships within your territory.
Your role will require you to demonstrate high problem-solving skills when faced with complex challenges, intuitively understanding the steps necessary to close deals and secure customer agreements. You will identify value drivers in all sales discussions, ensuring that you articulate Datadog's unique offerings effectively.
