Carta is seeking a Senior Revenue Accounting Manager to review and analyze customer contracts for revenue recognition. This role requires expertise in accounting principles and practices, particularly in revenue recognition.
You have a strong background in accounting, with at least 5 years of experience in revenue accounting or a related field. Your expertise in revenue recognition principles allows you to navigate complex customer contracts and ensure compliance with accounting standards. You are detail-oriented and possess excellent analytical skills, enabling you to identify and resolve discrepancies effectively. Your communication skills are top-notch, allowing you to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings clearly to stakeholders. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy in your work.
Experience with ERP systems and accounting software is a plus, as is familiarity with the venture capital or private equity sectors. You are proactive in your approach and continuously seek to improve processes and efficiencies within the accounting function. A CPA designation or equivalent is highly desirable, showcasing your commitment to the profession and your understanding of advanced accounting practices.
In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing new customer contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition. You will work closely with the sales and legal teams to ensure that all contracts are compliant with accounting standards and accurately reflect the terms of the agreements. Your analytical skills will be put to use as you assess the financial implications of contracts and provide insights to management on revenue forecasts. You will also play a key role in preparing financial reports and ensuring that revenue is recognized in accordance with GAAP.
Additionally, you will collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve the accuracy of financial reporting. Your ability to communicate effectively will be essential as you present your findings and recommendations to senior management. You will also mentor junior staff, providing guidance and support as they develop their skills in revenue accounting.
