Sr Backend Developer

You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience, particularly in building production systems that scale effectively. You’ve owned services from design through deployment and have a wealth of experience in debugging complex distributed systems issues. Your deep expertise in Java and Spring allows you to ship high-throughput APIs that handle millions of requests, and you have strong opinions on service architecture, dependency injection, and testing strategies. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with developers, designers, and data scientists to create impactful solutions. You are committed to continuous learning and growth, always seeking to unlock your potential in a supportive environment. Desirable

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure would be a plus, as would familiarity with microservices architecture. If you have worked in a SaaS environment before, that would be beneficial as well. A passion for innovation and a desire to redefine revenue optimization will set you apart.

What you'll do

In this role, you will develop and refine features that support client success on the Varicent Incentives platform, a single-page web application. You will collaborate with a diverse team to build modern, scalable features that deliver exceptional user experiences. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing APIs, optimizing database interactions, and ensuring the performance and reliability of the platform. You will also participate in code reviews and contribute to the overall architecture of the system, ensuring best practices are followed. As part of the Incentives Development team, you will be at the forefront of innovation, helping to shape the future of revenue optimization.
