Overview

SpaceX is seeking a Senior Sourcing Specialist to lead procurement and fulfillment of valve hardware for the Starship program. You'll manage sourcing activities and ensure alignment with technical specifications and delivery schedules. This role requires a strong background in procurement and supply chain management.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a proven track record in sourcing and procurement, particularly in the mechanical domain, with a focus on precision machined components and complex manufactured parts. Your experience includes negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships to ensure quality and timely delivery of materials. You possess strong analytical skills, allowing you to forecast demand and evaluate supplier capacity effectively. You are detail-oriented and can interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to align sourcing activities with project requirements. Your ability to track and drive supplier performance metrics is essential in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable

Experience in the aerospace or automotive industries is a plus, as is familiarity with valve hardware and related components. You are comfortable working in a high-stakes environment where extreme ownership and a proactive approach are crucial. Your communication skills enable you to collaborate effectively with engineering teams and other stakeholders.

What you'll do

In this role, you will manage sourcing activities across various commodities, ensuring that all procurement aligns with technical specifications and cost targets. You will quote, negotiate, and place purchase orders for precision-machined valve components, playing a critical role in the success of the Starship program. You will forecast demand and proactively manage purchase orders to maintain an uninterrupted supply chain. Additionally, you will track supplier performance metrics, focusing on quality, delivery, and responsiveness, to ensure that all components meet the high standards required for space travel. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to interpret technical specifications and ensure that all sourced materials meet project requirements.
