Microsoft is hiring an EPMS Engineer to oversee electrical systems and power distribution for cloud datacenters. You'll work with electrical power monitoring systems and ensure compliance with Microsoft technical standards. This role requires expertise in datacenter electrical engineering.
You are an electrical engineer with a strong background in datacenter electrical engineering and a detailed understanding of electrical power monitoring systems. You have the capability of achieving PE licensure and are passionate about building the infrastructure that powers cloud services. Your experience includes oversight of specification and drawing development for electrical systems, power distribution systems, and backup power systems. You are adept at managing consultants to ensure compliance with Microsoft technical standards and have a solid grasp of network topology and communication protocols.

Familiarity with critical environment network architecture and operational controls will enhance your ability to succeed in this role. In this role, you will be responsible for the oversight of the specification and drawing development for all electrical systems within the datacenter. This includes power distribution systems, backup power systems, and electrical power monitoring systems. You will develop control diagrams and sequences of operation for electrical control systems, ensuring that all designs align with Microsoft’s technical standards. Your expertise will guide the engineering and design processes, ensuring that all projects are executed efficiently and effectively.
You will collaborate with various teams and stakeholders to provide input on electrical systems and their integration into the overall datacenter infrastructure. Your role will involve managing consultants and ensuring that their designs meet Microsoft’s high standards. You will also be responsible for reviewing and approving designs, ensuring compliance with safety and operational protocols.
As part of the Regional Datacenter Engineering team, you will contribute to the successful delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary datacenter construction projects. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and reliability of Microsoft’s cloud services, making you a key player in the company’s mission to deliver world-class cloud infrastructure.
