Overview

SpaceX is hiring a Sourcing Manager for Mechanical Commodities to develop and manage the supply base for Starlink satellites and ground stations. This role involves working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to implement sourcing strategies.

Who you are

You have a strong background in supply chain management, particularly in sourcing and procurement, with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role. You understand the technical aspects of mechanical commodities and can identify opportunities for cost and process optimization. Your ability to analyze data and make informed decisions is crucial in this position. You are a natural leader, capable of training and mentoring team members to foster continuous improvement. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable collaborating with various stakeholders to achieve common goals.

Desirable

Experience in the aerospace or technology sectors is a plus, as is familiarity with satellite systems and components. You have a proven track record of developing successful sourcing strategies that align with organizational objectives. Your strong communication skills enable you to effectively engage with suppliers and internal teams alike, ensuring that everyone is aligned and informed.

What you'll do

As a Sourcing Manager at SpaceX, you will be responsible for developing and managing the supply base to support sourcing for Starlink satellites and ground stations. You will work directly with key suppliers to implement sourcing and cost management strategies that support both existing platforms and new product development. Your role will involve providing weekly team status reports and escalating issues to management when necessary. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that sourcing strategies align with capital purchases and production consumables. Additionally, you will leverage your technical knowledge to identify opportunities for cost, space, and process optimization, using data analytics to drive decisions.
