Technical Program Manager, WAN Infrastructure and Capacity

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 1 year of experience in program or technical project management. Your background includes experience with risk management, program management, stakeholder management, and escalation management. You possess knowledge of network infrastructure operations or builds, including optical transport/networking, dark fibre, and Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) networks. Your ability to manage project priorities and technical resources is complemented by strong relationships with multiple partner teams, directors, or vendors. You have a data-driven investigative approach to problem-solving, ensuring that issues are resolved comprehensively.

Desirable

Experience in the deployment of terrestrial or subsea optical network infrastructure engineering design and construction projects is a plus. You are comfortable engaging with external vendors for network build services and facilitating the review and acceptance of vendor handover documentation. Your communication skills are excellent, allowing you to articulate complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What you'll do

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you will lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You will work closely with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and ensure that all parties are informed of project status. Your role will involve engaging with external vendors for network build services and assisting upstream planning, design, and acquisition teams in developing infrastructure requirements and delivery expectations.
